How it works

Allocated bottles — the ones distilleries release in quantities far below demand — never show up in store inventory systems. They live behind counters, in raffles, and in the fifteen minutes before someone else buys them. The only thing that finds them is another pair of eyes.

Every Total Dram user who spots a bottle can log it in seconds. If it's on your wishlist and near you, your phone lights up with the store, the price, how many are on the shelf, and directions. You do the same for the next hunter.

No sale, no sharing for ad targeting
We don't sell your data, full stop. We don't share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. There's a “Do Not Sell or Share” toggle in the app even though our answer would always be no.
AI is opt-in, not on by default
The AI Sommelier doesn't send a single byte to Anthropic until you accept a plain-language disclosure. Revoke it any time and it stops.
Delete-and-it's-gone
Account deletion is a real deletion, not a soft flag. Community-contributed sightings that help others find bottles stay, but anonymized.
Export everything as JSON
GDPR Articles 15 and 20 (access and portability), implemented as a Settings button. One tap, structured file, share-sheet.
Coarse location, never background
Sightings store coordinates at ~111 m precision, enough for “is there one near me” and not enough for tracking. We never read your location in the background.

What does it cost?

Total Dram is free, with no ads: unlimited bottles, an unlimited wishlist, collection insights, side-by-side comparison, the flavor map, the GPS bottle finder, CSV export, tasting notes and a journal, and community sightings and the map.

One thing is metered. The label scanner reads 10 label scans a month, and the count resets at the start of each month (UTC). Past that, you can still add any bottle by hand.

Which phones?
iPhone first, through the App Store. An Android build already runs and is working through Google Play's testing requirements; it follows once it clears them, and the waitlist email will say so.
When?
It is in private testing now, on TestFlight. We will not print a date we might miss. The waitlist gets exactly one email, on the day it is live.
Where do the sightings come from?
From other collectors. Someone spots a bottle, logs the store and the price in a few seconds, and everyone nearby with it on their wishlist hears about it. Reporting is free, always, because reporting is what fills the map.
What stops fake sightings?

Less than you would like, and we would rather say so. Every sighting is attached to a real account (there is no anonymous posting), and anyone can report one or block the person who filed it, which takes their sightings off your map.

What limits the damage is time and precision. A sighting stops being shown as live after a day and is greyed out after a week, so a bad one ages out on its own; coordinates are truncated to about 111 m before they are stored, so no pin is exact enough to send anyone to a specific door. The map is a tip from another collector, not an inventory feed. Treat it that way and call the store.

Does it work without signal?
Your shelf is readable anywhere, including a cellar with no bars. Adding or editing a bottle needs a connection; we would rather refuse a write than lose one.
Do I have to be 21?
Yes. Total Dram is for adults of legal drinking age. It never sells or ships alcohol: the map shows where a bottle was seen, and you buy it from the store like anyone else.
What happens to my data?
It stays yours. We do not sell it or share it for ad targeting, deletion is a real deletion, and you can export everything as JSON. The privacy policy is short enough to read.
